A high precision YAG Thomson scattering diagnostic with high frequency and long pulse operation capabilities has been developed on EAST. As to the characteristics of limited space and long pulse operation of the superconducting tokamak device, the key diagnostics on electron temperature and density profiles has been firstly developed in the fully superconducting divertor tokamak, which is critically useful for the research of long pulse and high performance operation in EAST. The research group independently completed the design of whole system, of which the key technical indicators, such as temporal resolution, spatial resolution, measurement accuracy and operation stability, have reached the world leading level, meeting the physical needs of long pulse and high parameter operation in EAST. This milestone shows that the diagnostics technology and engineering for magnetic confinement fusion research in China has reached the international advanced level, which is of great scientific significance for the future frontier plasma physics research in EAST and the construction of Chinese Fusion Engineering Test Reactor.
